The Amherstview Jets started their 5 goal run midway through the first and would go on to add a second goal just minutes later. Also midway through the first, Brandon Turner of the Deseronto Storm was caught with his head down and was the recipient of a hard hit which ended his night. Turner laid on the ice for a few minutes before being helped off by some teammates to seek some medical attention. As a result of the hit, Jets captain Jesse Stone was given a 5 minute charging penalty and a game misconduct. On the ensuing power play the Storm could not get on the scoreboard.
Troy Paquette played well between the pipes for the Jets, stopping all 36 shots, while Storm goalie, Shaun Hadley stopped 32 of his 37 shots.
Scoring for the Jets were, Poirier, Masterson (2), Leblanc and Stapley.
