Toronto - Some of the best women in hockey in North America gathered in Toronto for the 2016 CWHL All Star game. The game was the 2nd Annual All-Star game for the quickly growing CWHL.
The fun began Friday night (Jan.22/16) at the Hilton, as the players learned which team they would be on, by way of the Fantasy Draft. Team Black, led by Julie Chu got the first pick of the night, choosing her teammate, Marie-Philip Poulin.
Team White, led by Natalie Spooner got the second overall pick in the draft and she chose Brianne Jenner.
Saturday (Jan.23/16) kicked off with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a short walk to the Air Canada Centre. Once at the rink, the women got to check out the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadians morning skates, before taking to the ice at 12:30pm for warm up, followed by the All Star game at 1pm.
When the final whistle came, Team Black defeated Team White 5-1.
