A Weak Storm Allows For Easy Victory

The Polar Vortex seems to have passed but it was still messy and cold inside the Deseronto Community Centre as the Storm played host to the Campbellford Rebels. Before the game was even underway there was trouble. The national anthem was cut short due to a technical issue and the buzzer to indicate the end of a period had a mind of its own and was working randomly.
The first period was full of crazy bounces and weird plays on the ice, including a shorthanded goal by Johnny Maracle. However, that was the only bit of luck the Deseronto Storm would see. As the first period expired the Rebels were in the lead, 3-2. Scoring the other Storm goal was Brandon Turner. Picking up the goals for the Rebels were, TJ Patterson, Jon Samis and Ryan Crowley.
The remainder of the game was dominated by the Rebels, scoring once in the 2nd period and then 3 times in the third.
Ryan Crowley was the star of the game with 4 points, 2 goals and 2 assists. As time expired, the Rebels cruised to a 7-2 win.
Brock Tufts faced 60 shots for the Storm, while Rebels goalie Kevin Valdas, only saw 36 shots.
